In June of 2020, Davina created the first-ever Future M.D.s+ in STEM Summer Program - a completely free, virtual, pre-medical and STEM summer program for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The summer program blossomed into MedSTEMPowered.MedSTEMPowered - Medicine in STEM, Empowering Youth - is a global community of over 1900 high school & undergraduate students. From our Pre-Medical and STEM Summer Program to over 7 Departments we hold, MedSTEMPowered has reached nearly 10,000 students worldwide. MedSTEMPowered has created and hosted the annual Future M.D.s+ in STEM 2020 & 2021 Summer Program, as well as the 2021, First Annual Winter Camp. Our Camps and Programs have seen nearly 2,000 applicants and 800 live attendees.The 2021 Research Symposium and Innovative Research Competition saw nearly 50 student submissions and featured nearly 20 awards. Our Leadership Team of 20 serves our departmental functions of research, marketing, content creation, social media, events, and more.All of the resources, programs, camps, and content created and hosted by MedSTEMPowered are, and always will be entirely free to the public. We aim to create safe spaces for non-traditional, indigenous, first-generation, and queer students in STEM education.Davina has directly driven and initiated nearly each event and endeavor at MedSTEMPowered. This year, in 2022, she will be celebrating her second anniversary and MedSTEMPowered's second birthday!



Founder of the Future M.D.s+ in STEM 2020 & 2021 Summer Program + Winter Camp

Created by Davina, The 2020 Summer Program 2 week, 10-session program that taught students CPR, BLS, AED, Mock Triaging, The Anatomy and Physiology of the Cardiovascular System, Mock Deliveries and Surgical Suturing, as well as choosing Pre-Medical Universities. The program featured guest speakers such as: Pharm-D Residents, M.D.'s, M.D. Candidates, LECOM-B Candidates, Pre-Medical Students, and BsN Candidates. The program featured 200+ unique participants.In 2021, The Future M.D.s+ in STEM Program was re-launched with both a National and International program for participants. These changes came with new workshops, such as Mock Diagnosing, a CPR Practical, Medical Debate, and new Ficticious TI-2050 Pandemic-Based Research Competition, where students developed solutions collaboratively and competed for awards. We received nearly 1,000 applications, and the content for each program was catered towards National Applicants & our International Applicants. Overall, 10 sessions were held, nearly 400 certificates of completion with excellence were awarded, and virtual shadowing opportunities were provided, in addition to the Research Symposium, a day-long event in which students gained the opportunity to share their research submissions & solutions.The Future M.D.s+ in STEM Winter Camp was launched for the first time in 2021. With nearly 400 applicants and 200 live attendees, participants engaged in four hands-on medical workshops, including Emergency Medicine, Medical Specialties, and Vitals, and learned from Healthcare Professionals. Additionally, participants were given the chance to participate in our first-ever Case Study Competition, featuring student work and awards, alongside student mentorship from MedSTEMPowered's community members.
